Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Transportation & Logistics and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.02%, while the MDAX index declined 0.65%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.95%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which rose 3.78% or 1.570 points to trade at 43.135 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 2.31% or 6.50 points to end at 287.65 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was up 1.88% or 1.570 points to 85.200 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session wereDelivery Hero AG(DE:DHER), which fell 6.15% or 7.70 points to trade at 117.55 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 2.63% or 0.853 points to end at 31.615 andSiemens Energy AG(DE:ENR1n) was down 2.10% or 0.55 points to 25.68.

The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.19% to 10.630,Commerzbank AGO.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 2.97% to settle at 5.781 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 2.72% to close at 11.690.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.40% to 428.400 in late trade,MorphosysAG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 4.32% to settle at 67.180 andHochtiefAG (DE:HOTG) which was down 3.97% to 72.60 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX wereFreenetAG NA (DE:FNTGn) which rose 1.97% to 21.775,Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG(DE:O2Dn) which was up 1.46% to settle at 2.495 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which gained 1.10% to close at 16.689.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.40% to 428.400 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 4.32% to settle at 67.180 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 3.55% to 139.900 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 377 to 318 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.19% or 0.427 to 10.630. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.32% or 3.030 to 67.180. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.97% or 0.420 to 21.775. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.32% or 3.030 to 67.180.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.15% to 19.52.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.53% or 9.65 to $1840.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $64.88 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $68.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.2167, while EUR/GBP fell 1.10% to 0.8602.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 90.058.
