The Department of Arts and Design (DAD), housed in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, collaborates with the Department of Communication to offer an interdisciplinary specialization in art, design, and creative media in visual communication leading to Master’s and PhD degrees. Applications are invited for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Chinese Art History and Classical Chinese Art Theory/Philosophy, who will teach a variety of Master and PhD courses in related fields and contribute administrative and curatorial duties for the Department and the Centre for Arts and Design (CAD). Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Chinese Art History and Theory or related fields. A track record of high-quality research and publication through internationally respected channels, such as AHCI or CSSCI journals, or demonstrated ability is prioritized. Candidates with experience in supervising MA and PhD students for their theses and dissertations, as well as curatorial experience is desirable. While applicants must be excellent in Chinese (speaking and academic writing), excellent in English is considered an asset for the appointment.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as early as August 2022.

Remuneration

Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Chinese Art History & Classical Chinese Art Theory/Philosophy

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approx. USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approx. USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
